Judges Championship Show Critiques

A prerequisite for appearing on our GWPC Judges lists is that all judges agree to write and submit a wriiten critique to the Dog Papers. Unfortunately the following critiques did not appear in print at the time. We have therefore written to the judges and requested a copy for our records and they have forwarded them on to us for printing. Please see below.

National Gundog 2005 - Judge J Sheridan

SPEC VET D (1)  1. Morris’s Bareve Badger, 9 year old, nice head and expression, good bone, legs and feet. Good rib and depth of brisket, good quarters. Moved well for his age.

  PD (1)  1.Tolladay’s Bareve Baracouda At Bethersden, 7 month old chap, pleasing head and eye with ample length of neck for age with good layback of shoulder and good turn of quarters. Balanced with a pleasing outline. Moved well, front should tighten with maturity.

  JD (8)  1. Pinkerton’s Freddy Vom Kapellenhof At Bareve (Imp),  what a lovely young chap of excellent proportions.  Excellent head and expression without any hint of coarseness at this stage, good neck and layback of shoulder, well ribbed with good depth. Lovely set of timber fore and aft, well turned powerfull quarters. In good coat and condition. Moved soundly and effortlessly around the ring with great front extension, driving off his low set hocks and held his topline on the move. Presented in hard condition Has that certain  quality, style and charisma in the ring that should take him to the top and beyond. Was pleased to award him his first C.C. & B.O.B. and was delighted to see him placed in the final lineup in the group.

2. Hamlin & Rose’s Kavacanne Lynx With Nuash, pleasing head and expression, nice neck, shoulders, rib and depth.. Good front and quarters, moved well fore and aft, in good coat.

3. Hoyle, Hayes & McCullough’s Wiggmansberg Graf Vom Kimmax

ND (5)  1.Avard & Petry’s Kimmax Kanna B Bothered With Rieyonne, nice head and eye, good neck and shoulder placement with a good rib and depth. Nice quarters, moved well.

2. Bowman’s Rudishaw Raise The Roof, nice shape to head with good expression, good layback of shoulder & good front, stifles well turned and moved soundly.

3.Cartwright & Elcocks Kimmax Kool For Kate.

GD (3)  1.Clarke’s Gavic Back To Back ShCM, good head & expression, nice neck and shoulder placement, good rib and depth. Good substance all through but appears a shade long in loin. Moved ok.

2. Avard & Petry’s Kimmax Kanna B Bothered With Rieyone

3. Joseph’s Trebus Tarrantino.

PGD (3)  1. Dempster’s Benreeda Ghosts Wighoules JW, ShCM, nice head and expression with a lovely dark eye. Good strong neck set into well laid shoulders with good depth of body, strong loin. Nicely angulated quarters with good driving movement and held topline on the move. Tail set on well.

2. Bateman’s Kimmax Control Freak, good head & expression. Good neck and shoulder placement, good rib and depth. Good substance and angulated rear section. Moved well.

3. Flatt’s Belstock JumPin Jack Flash.

LD (3)  1. McCullough’s Kimax Kareful Kid, nice head and furnishings, good eye, neck, shoulders, legs and feet. Ample bone, good depth & well ribbed , good front. Moved well maintaining his topline on the move.

2.Ford’s Rudishaw Right Reverend Dangvord, beautiful head & expression, well put together, ample bone without being course. Moved with good driving action and front extension holding his topline on the move.

3. McKenna’s, Amicaro Apache At Carrmyers, ShCM,

OD (1)  1. Craig’s Kimmax No Kompromise For Klancraig, good head and furnishings, nice eye and expression. Good strong neck set into good layback of shoulder, good body depth and well ribbed. Strong loin, good turn of quarters. Moved well fore and aft maintaining his topline on the move. R.C.C.

Spec Vet B (0)

PB (3)  1. Pinkerton’s Bareve Bila-Shaka, balanced puppy built on elegant lines,  appealing head with a good eye, good neck and front assembly, good feet & well boned without being coarse, correct body proportions at this stage, good topline held on the move, moved well, BP.

2. Friar’s Bareve Bonnabee With Sashal, another quality puppy and she could easily change places on other occasions. Smaller framed and not the bone of 1 at this stage, but is a balanced femine young lady with beautiful head and eye. Good neck and front assembly, good turn of quarters, moved well.

3.Webb’s Tynsil Pumpkin Poe To Wittekind.

JB (7,1)  1. Ellis’s  Maursett Marelda Via Normbar, femine young lady with nice head, eye and expression. Good front, shoulder placement, rib and depth. Good quarters and moved out well, pleasing in outline and held her topline on the move.

 2. Avard & Petry’s Kimax Kasta Spell Over Rieyonne, lovely quality feminine bitch, nice head and dark eye as one expected from a B/W, good neck and shoulder placement, good rib & depth of body, correct body proportions. Moved well but preferred movement of 1 today.

3. Cartwright & Elcocks Kimmax Kaprice

GB (3)  1. Campbell’s Hartperry Elfi Dannanowski Of Blackcraig, nicely balanced sound bitch. Good head & dark eyes, correct ear placement, nice neck set into sloping shoulders, good spring of rib and depth of body. Fine set of timber fore and aft, good feet, good topline, tailset. Moved soundly and catches one’s eye in profile.

2. Hutchinsin & Sheridan’s (no relation to judge) Hartperry Alinda Valli (ink smudged my notes, sorry).        

3. Clarke’s Dancing Decoy At Felleywood.

PGB (8,1) 1. Ellis’s Amicaro Cheyenne, lovely head, superb eye & expression, good neck, shoulders legs & feet. Well ribbed with good depth of brisket, good front and rear assembly. Overall well constructed and sound moving but moved with grace and style. In hard condition.

2. McCullough’s Abbotsbourne Solar Flare To Kimmax, JW, pleasing head and expression, good neck set into well laid shoulders, deep brisket, ample bone, good legs and feet, good quarters. Moved well but not with the precision of 1.

3. Cuthill’s Benreeda Witching Hour.

LB (5,1)  1. Friar’s Bareve Baloo For Sashal, quality feminine bitch with good head and eye. She is well balanced  with good body proportions. Propelled herself effortlessly around the ring driving off her hocks. To be critical, could do with a slightly better tail carriage on the move. Well deserved R.C.C.

2. O’Connor’s Amicaro Iowa At Karlejay, Sh.CM, good head and furnishings, well sprung ribs extending well back, good topline and tailset, presents a well balanced outline. Good quarters, moved well but preferred overall movement of 1 and would prefer tighter feet.

3. Avard & Petry’s Kimmax Krackin Krumpet Mit Rieyonne.

OB (3)  1. Shaw’s Bareve Bronte For Rudishaw, superb head, neck and forquarters, ribs well sprung and extending well back, good depth of body, good topline. Well turned stifles, good second thigh development and low set hocks. Overall a conformationally sound, honest bitch that does not always move with much enthusiasm, however, today pulled out all the stops and moved well. Have preciously awarded this bitch a R.C.C. and was pleased to be able to award her the C.C. today, her third I was told, congratulations and not before time.

2. Pinkerton’s Bareve Bombali, good head and furnishings, strong well boned bitch without any hint of coarseness and retains her feminine virtues. Well made throughout, good layback of shoulders, grand spring of rib, good forechest. Good front assembly, topline and quarters. Covers the ground both standing and moving with a good driving action on the move.

3. Craig’s Kimmax Kiss And Tell For Klancraig ,JW.
